World Champions compete at 2011 Springville Sierra Rodeo
Clay O'Brien Cooper will compete in Springville. Clay made his acting debut in the John Wayne
film "The Cowboys" (1972) when he was 9 years old, then went on to become the 7 times World Champion Team Roper
in Heeling, winning $2,233,934.00
Luke Branquinho of Los Alamos, California, two time (2004, 2008) World Champion Steer Wrestler is now leading the
field for 2011 and will be competing against Billy Bugenig, number 2 in the standings and Tommy Cook, number
13, and Stan Branco, number 14. Four steer wrestlers in the top fifteen makes a first class competition to watch
April 23 & 24.
The number one Bull Rider, Shane Proctor of Grand Coulee, Washington will be up against
number 8, Clayton Savage, number 13, Chance Smart and number 18, Lindsey Rankin. Four of the top
twenty Bull Riders in the country at the Springville Sierra Rodeo.
First place Calf Roper, Clint Cooper is competing against number 9, Matt Shiozawa, and number 20, Zeb Chapman.
Clint is the son of 8 time World Champion, Roy Cooper.
Jody Sheffield, sitting in second place in the barrel race will be up against number 5, Brenda Mays, number 8, Britany Fleck
and number 19, Sherrylynn Johnson. Marguerite Happy, one of Hollywood's top Stunt Women will also be in the
Barrel Race competition. Charlene Jesperson will be there too, after winning the Fallon Senior Pro Rodeo in the
60+ age category.
Mert Bradshaw is in 15th place in the Saddle Bronc standings and Caleb Twisselman is sitting 16th in the Team
Roping Heelers. Cody DeMers who has won $834,018.00 is in the Bareback Bronc Riding. Josh Peek and
Monty Joe Petska have each won over a million dollars rodeoing. H. P. Evetts is a top Hollywood Stunt Man
"Dances With Wolves", "Wyatt Earp", "Zorro", etc.) They'll be competing along with 322 contestants at the 63rd Springville
